John Powell elected as Chairman of CEN/TC 341

John Powell was nominated and has been elected as Chairman of CEN/TC 341 for a 6 year appointment period from December 2nd 2013. CEN TC 341 is one of, if not ‘the’ most significant European Committee that is responsible for managing, implementing and vetting of all Standards in Europe relating to ‘Geotechnical Investigation and Testing’. Any Standards that are published by CEN/TC 341 are also automatically adopted by ISO (International Standards Organization) and, in effect, become ‘world Standards’ (with the exception of the USA and a few other unenlightened countries). This appointment is an honour and of great significance both to John personally and Geolabs Limited.
