1 Written instructions or an appropriate purchase order are required BEFORE commencement of testing. Where an official purchase order is required to enable an invoice submitted by Geolabs Limited to be paid, this MUST be provided before commencement of testing. Any delay to payment of a Geolabs Limited invoice caused by a purchase order not being provided will immediately start accruing late payment penalties.
2 The test charges are for samples delivered to our laboratories in Watford or Birmingham and do not include costs incurred for obtaining or transporting test samples or provision of sample containers. Rates for collection are dependent upon the number of samples and geographical location. There is no collection charge for locations within a 50 miles radius of our Watford and Birmingham laboratories, providing there is in excess of 20 samples to be tested in the consignment and the samples for testing are of an appropriate mass for the tests required, are suitably labelled, packaged and wrapped before collection by an independent courier service. Where samples are excessively oversized, particularly for low value testing, or samples are included which are not tested, there may be a surcharge to cover increased courier charges.
3 Prices are for the performance of the relevant test or test(s) per specimen or set of specimens as indicated and provision of the test results in accordance with the relevant Standard or specification.
4 Please note that the rates provided are for performing tests to the Standards and/or Specifications quoted. Any required deviations from the Standards and/or Specifications required may incur additional time and equipment charges. Any charges will be notified before commencement of testing.
5 The rates shown include for the provision of one copy of test results in accordance with the relevant Standard or test procedure sent to one address.
The rates DO NOT include provision for collation and tabulations of test results on summary sheets or in digital format (ie AGS format)
There MAY be no charge for data in digital format providing the request is made before commencement of testing. If no such request is received before commencement of testing but is received after testing is commenced or completed, then a charge of £25.00 per hour for provision of such data will be made.
6 All recorded data from test results and analysis will be archived and stored for a minimum 6 year period from the date of reporting.
7 Unless specifically noted within the quotation, there is no provision for any photographic requirements in the rates provided.
8 Unless previously agreed in writing, samples are disposed of 30 days after the issue of the results or report.
Storage charges will be applied for storage durations greater than one month after issue of the report.
The following sample storage and disposal charges will apply to all samples sent to ourselves for testing and/or storage:
i) Samples requiring storage after the 30 day period will incur a charge of £1.00 per sample per week.
ii) Samples stored and not tested will incur a charge of £2.00 per sample per week from the date of receipt of sample.
iii) Samples from non-UK sites or containing contaminated or hazardous materials may incur additional storage and disposal costs.
iv) There is no provision in the quotation for returning samples or sample containers to any address. If required, forwarded items will incur a charge of £25.00 per hourfor picking and packaging in addition to delivery costs passed on with a 15% administration charge.
9 Surcharges may be applied for samples of unusual composition or where special preparation and testing techniques are required. These will be confirmed prior to commencing work.
10 There is a minimum order charge of £75.00 per test project.
11 If any testing is commissioned and paid for by a non-UK company that will incur bank charges to Geolabs Limited, any bank charges will be added to and included into the invoice for the testing performed or services undertaken.
12 If any testing is commissioned that requires any provision for collecting or delivering test samples from within mainland UK and/or arranging HMRC Customs clearance, handling and cargo storage charges, any costs incurred to Geolabs Limited will be included into any invoice submitted for any testing performed or services undertaken.
Any costs incurred will include a 15% administration charge.
13 VAT at the applicable standard rate will be added to any rates quoted.
14 Any test results supplied by Geolabs Limited will remain the property of Geolabs Limited until all invoices submitted by Geolabs Limited relating to the provision of the test results is paid in full.
15 If the client decides to significantly change the test quantities and/or change the tests requested or wishes to make alternative arrangements for some of the testing without the approval of Geolabs Limited, then Geolabs Limited reserves the right to review the rates for the whole of testing on a project.
