Geolabs Limited achieves UKAS Extension to Scope and Accreditation to BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017

Geolabs Limited is proud to announce that we have successfully achieved UKAS accreditation to BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017, together with a significant extension to the scope of accredited tests in our Watford and Birmingham laboratories.

The newly-added UKAS accredited tests are as follows:

• BS EN ISO 17892-7:2018 – Unconfined Compression Test – Soil (UCS)
• BS EN ISO 17892-8:2018 – Unconsolidated Undrained Triaxial Test (UUTXL)
• BS EN ISO 17892-12:2018 – Liquid & Plastic Limits

Geolabs Limited is also UKAS accredited for the BS EN ISO 17892 standards for Water Content, Bulk Density, Particle Density by small pycnometer, Particle Size Distribution and Incremental Loading Oedometer tests.

These tests form part of the BS EN ISO 17892 series of standards that has been introduced to replace the majority of BS 1377:1990 tests which are now withdrawn. With the first standard for water content being published in 2014, this 12-part series is now fully published, and supersedes the equivalent test methods in BS 1377. Tests not covered by a BS EN ISO 17892 standard, such as chemical and compaction-related tests, will continue to be performed in accordance with current BS 1377 methods.
